A LOVELY DAY OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Last week I had the exciting task of accompanying my lovely colleague Emma to photograph Toronto's construction scene. Work recently purchased a lovely new DSLR, so I was thrilled at the opportunity to test it out. It has been some time since I shot on digital, so I was mildly nervous. It was a great day. We were given access to several rooftop locations and enjoyed seeing the city from a different perspective.

I was to document texture, shapes and patterns, along with typical construction sites. We received lots of waves from the friendly construction community and it reminded me how much I miss being out there taking photos.

COMO ITALY

These photographs are a bit delayed. It's been quite a busy time since my holiday in May/June. After losing my lens cap from my trusty OM10 in Scotland, editing negatives has become an arduous task.

I went back to the UK to visit my best friends and while I was there, Emilia and I went on a weekend jaunt to Como, Italy.
It was breath-taking! Of course I was totally fixated on the mountains and the water, so the majority of my photos are of just that.

I was also shooting on this super old 800 ISO film that had already been lodged in the one camera I remembered to bring, thus producing some rather grainy results. The first photograph was taken back in March during a hike up Huckleberry in Muskoka.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Today on the work agenda was photograph the entire staff, and photograph the ice cream social at lunch. These are the best assignments.

I wanted to share some of my favourite photos from today.

EVERYBODY IS WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND

The craziness has begun! Weekend/late night overtime is happening. I've had the Loverboy tunes a-pumpin' in the office, so you know it's getting real.

I wanted to share some progress with you lovely interweb people, to eradicate any notions that you think I'm sitting around on my behind munching on nachos (I might also be doing this...).

The very first project I dabbled in at Informa is now fully underway and due in a week (cue mini scream). The 150-200 page Show Guide is coming together. If you riffle through old pages on this blog, you'll be able to see some of the early stages, if that's of any interest. I put together 30 or so pages today. Luckily I had prepared some of my stylesheets ahead of time! Still lots to be done but for now — here is a sample of some of the sections.

Be well, friends!
