Christmas in Cambridge

I stayed in London this year for the holidays and was invited to go to my cousin Carol's husband's brother's home in rural Cambridge for Christmas Eve - Boxing Day. It was a bit strange having not met any of them prior, but it ended up being a great experience. Here are a few photos remaining from what I have posted on facebook.

Carol took me a short tour of Cambridge, the beautiful (and very old) university city. So here are a couple photos from what I saw:

LONDON SNOW!

It started off with a few flakes...
and... this was a couple hours later

Cards!!

My housemate taught me how to make pretty cards!
Although the first one was my own silly creation.

Updated quiz scenes

Again being forced to complete my work for this looming end of term presentation, I have nearly finished my "discover your future lifestyle" mock quiz. I added some extra scenes and am working on expanding the clicking choices. This is what I've changed (minus a few blassé details) thus far:

My musical travels - finito!

For the upcoming portfolio pdf hand in/presentation I just finished my musical travels guitar tablature book. Hooray for the book binding workshop!

BOOK BINDING

Today I attended an extremely useful book binding workshop.
We learned 2 different methods.
I didn't take photos during the process (it was quite busy and messy at times!)
Here are the books I made. I'm kind of proud.

I know they look a bit crap, but honestly the next book looks MUCH better!

I forgot to include my first project on this blog. It was a booklet geared towards kids to teach them about type anatomy. I went with the "treat reward system" angle. I used vegan smarties or "chocolate beans" to make letters and use as examples in the booklet. I also had a little cookie face that was being slowly eaten page by page.. I was really sick of those cookies by the end of this project! Here are some photos from the process:

A change of direction

For the last project, I wanted to get away from my traditional churning out of print pieces. I delved back into Flash and created a quiz on consumerism. I had a message in mind - we must consider the consequences of each decision we make, because of the damage we are doing to our planet.
It also correlated with the theme of my elective essay (the impact of food production on the environment). Anyway here are a some sample screenshots of a few "scenes" from my flash quiz. I have many more illustrations to do to complete it! The results page also needs an overhaul. Lots to do.
