Mission: Incomplete!

I'm not sure if I've posted these spreads before. A year ago I began working on a book of my poetry and film photos that I collected from over the course of my time in the UK. I didn't get very far. I didn't even format the text. I set the project down for awhile and forgot about it. I recently stumbled upon the file and have decided to start working on it again. I thought I would share these spreads for the sake of having some work to post on here. I'm hoping it will light the fire under my bottom to get creating again. I mixed a few doodles in from my sketchbook, but I'm not sure if I will include them or keep the white space. I hope I managed to fix all the spelling errors! I spent most of the time throwing this together when I was overtired.

STUDIO SHOOT

I was feeling a bit proactive considering how little I know about photographing in a studio, using various lighting and whatnot. My lovely housemate and I decided we should book the studio at Uni and take advantage of it while we could. Jenn was handy and became my model. Easy peasy. Thanks to Mimi and Mikee for stepping in and switching it up.

I also snapped Seamus while he was hammering on the g-tar.

A TIME TO TRAVEL, JA! MUNICH

My friend Jenn popped over from Canada for her birthday last week. We went on a quick holiday to Munich, a city we both visited for an afternoon on our contiki tour in 2008 and thought we might enjoy. We certainly did, aside from our old gassy hostel bunkmates.

In Love... with a camera

Now that we're on easter break at Uni, and been given a new photo brief (yay!), I am desperate to shoot when I go back to Canada. It breaks my heart I can't borrow my favourite camera for this assignment... so I've been seriously on the hunt for one of these bad boys - although they are far FAR out of my current financial capabilities. If anyone finds one of these somewhere on the sidewalk, or knows of one that is sitting somewhere unloved, I would be happy to give it a proper home.

Carol Mania

This has kind of turned into a photo blog!

I scanned the photos of Carol on the great Nikon scanners at Uni and without technical difficulties/destruction. I am missing a strong one that I left on the school computer.

Not sure which one to use for the portrait assignment, any suggestions?

Portrait Assignment

My lovely cousin agreed to be my model for the photography - portrait assignment. She was an incredibly easy subject and such a good sport about coming into the studio at Uni. Love her to bits.

I shot 3 rolls on the pentax (as if that needed to be mentioned) and processed my own b&w negs. I love getting my hands into everything. This is the gist of how they turned out. Quite a few seem rather overexposed so I hope it isn't so when I get proper scans next week.

more pentax bliss..

After breaking the Uni scanner and having my negs stuck in it for a day or so, I finally got them back but haven't had time/bit apprehensive about using the scanner again. So here's a rubbish scan from my printer for now!

Here are the proper scans after they repaired the scanner! These are taken along the path beside the Thames that runs behind our complex. Oh and one of my lovely housemate Mimi + I on my birthday.
